[E] General • [How-To] - Copy Deployment of Legacy Apps
Instead of Deploying through a Dev Server and Developer Tools, you can simply Copy your widgets onto your TV via FTP.
To enable FTP you will have to have Root.
- The directory is /mtd_rwcommon/widgets/
- normal installed Apps belongs to "normal"
- user installed Apps (Developer) belongs to "user"
- Simply copy the app-folder (developed or an app from the Internet -> not from official Store) into the "user" folder
- Restart TV and it will show up in the Smart Hub.
What you could do?
- Back-Up Applications, which aren't in the Store anymore, to provide the App through the internet
- Modify/Patch most Applications (90% of the apps are Simple Web-Applications -> HTML, CSS, JS)
- Tizen OS TVs are still capable of running legacy Applications, but the directory is different. I don't know where it belongs yet, because i had not the time for it. The idea is the same.
PS: if someone still has the Youtube Application, it would be nice to share.

I also want to know.
The country wise model is really bummer.People thought it's just change of model number & they are equivalent, which is not.
It's also lack of 10bit as well as lower brightness nits panel.

Hi,
I want to update my firmware so I can watch videos on USB.
Can I update my current T-CHL5DEUC 2009.0 firmware with T-CHL7DEUC-2005.0. or other CHL7 version?
if not, can someone share me link for the CHL5DEUC that can be patched so I can watch usb movies?
I shouldn't update my firmware with the newest (2010) version, right?

[F] General • SAMSUNG SMART TV - RE-INSTALL SKYPE
I managed to install Skype on my F series.
Note: You have to login to the Samsung developer account. User: deelop, Pw: 000000 (or leave blank my tv).
Once you do this, you will see the "Samy" app under All Apps in the Smart Hub. Click it to install. Then restart the TV.
PROBLEM: On my F series, the Skype apps shows and starts however it is unable to connect to the Skype servers. Do others experience this?

[F] General • Headset Bluetooth F6500
Same here. Got UA40F6400. Latest firmware 2139.1 In SM settings Engineer - BT on, MRT- BT Support - on, Control- Sound -High Devi - on, Debug- BTDUT does not exist. Which is meant to be there to allow BT HID to work. In the Spec for this model. Smart Remote works, 3d glasses work and can be paired using BT. Samsung Soundbar will connect via BT & HDMI & WIFI. So BT HID is working. Just cannot see the options listed in Sound menu for Headphones. Another forum mentioned that Samsung have disabled this function in F6400 only but work in lots of models before 2013 and later in 2014 onwards. Requires a firmware patch to enable BT Headphones to be enabled and allow pairing to occur as the TV hardware is all there. Software option removed for some reason. Need to report this to Support to get Samsung to fix. Cheers

[F] Support • Lost all apps in smarthub
Fixed Did SM apps reset twice. Then SM Factory reset. Restored all settings same before.
Hint Take photos before on ALL settings, save TV channels exported to USB Before any resetting using SM.
After Factory Restore Turn on TV using Remote. Then restore settings via MENU in all options to restore back to as before. Select Smart Hub. ALL apps will be available. Now can edit my apps adding new from Samsung app, deleteing ones not required, move popular ones to first position, next etc.
Download and install YouTube. You test YouTube should work correctly even logon to get back favourite channels. When finished restore back to Smart Hub Screen All your apps should be there as just arranged. Turned off TV via remote to standby mode ONLY. DO NOT SWITCH OFF POWER AT THIS TIME.
Using remote power up again. Select Smart Hub. Finally ALL APPS are still there as before. Test some should all be working. I did allow apps to undated as required. Also still allow firmware upgrades. My TV is the latest version 2137.1. But I have Logged on to Samsung Yet. Not required to update apps to latest. After several hours of using the TV off air, using Youtube watching lots of videos. ALL GOOD so far. Then Turned TV off firstly via Remote to Standby. Then Total power off via Mains switch.
Then restored power to TV, then via remote TV active. SURPRISE ALL APPS still there. Working as per normal. I have been using Smart Hub for a few days now. ALL GOOD.
I can power down TV via Mains not having to put in Standby first. Power on and off and still APPS STILL THERE. Amazing. After years of failure. NOW BACK TO NORMAL.
Even Samsung Support could not fix it remotely. I have reported the problem to the Support Manager, after basic, Level 2 Support failed. I was told Support that problem has existed for about 2 years, NO FIX in ALL updates provided so far. Told them to investigate, trial test, then release the patch. Get feedback from users. Then final release to ALL. IS CORRECT WAY TO SOLVE THE ISSUE ONCE AND FOR ALL. Told him there are heaps of Forums around reporting the Problem and not fixed yet. Very POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Was promised Samsung will fix it. We will see.
I did my procedure a couple of times over a few days. STILL APPEARS TO HAVE FIXED IT. Cheers
