Because "sources" are not only HDMI, and HDMI is not only HDMI1. Use RCremap.

Other "humans" :D could unplug it unauthorized, so there is a danger.

still, would be cool to have a solution in future tho ;)

Well tape is only temporary you can build wooden or even metal box around TV so NOBODY will unplug it. Nobody is stopping you from modifying :)

[D] General • How to repair bricked Samsung UE40D5700

$

Mainboard nameplate (paper):

UE 40 D 5707 974B MAIN 1018.1 SUB1003 (updated to version 1027, might be big mistake)
SK10 BN9405225ED 2U4BAQ0197

Written nameplate on mainboard:

HIGH_X6_ATSC_DVB_LED
Code: BN41-01660B
Model: BN41-01660

What is really my LED TV model because there is so many markings? One guy told me that your tv chassis is BN9405225ED??

Now came the Samsung 40 "LED TV on a more challenging problem when the TV went crazy for trying update After. I pressed Micom upgrade and thereafter became the wait .. I pulled the plug out, because nothing happened even though I waited for approx. 5 minutes. After this trick the TV is completely silent and not even the red LED on the front panel no longer shine. I can not get service menu any more info + menu + Mute + power combination. All voltage is OK, backlights are also OK (tested by disconnect the motherboard to PSU cable). I think all hardware is ok but some eeproms not.

1. Is it possibility to get the TV back to life without replacing the entire motherboard? SamyGo site has a lot of story that Micom eeprom can be restored back to life using a some procedure with Arduino Ethernet Shield W5100 Network Expansion Board is. Some guy still say, replace your motherboard. What is the probability of success in my case?

This is very complicated to understand, especially when I do not know with certainty what eeprom is it correct one to trying to revive. I have no any service manual available. I suppose that the correct IC IC901: ATMLH136 2ECL which adjoins the main logic board is ready for pads HRESET, WP, SCL, SDA, and GND, (marked also following picture). Another possible the IC circuit is IC1203: S24CSO which is very close to the Weltrend circuit and it can also be mixed. See following pictures..

2. Is there some sites to downloadable right service manual or some usable shematics for my tv?

3. Is it good idea buy new eeproms and replace both ATMLH136 and S24CSO? Or if I replace them some other Samsung motherboards (maybe little bit different model) but eeproms bootup routines are ok and tv maybe boot partly so I maybe manage to go service menu to reconfig/update Micom?

4. How to reset these eeproms right way? There is few different method in the SamyGo sites. I already try to reset by closing pins 5 and in 6 with ATMLH136 and also S24CSO but no any lucky. Also I closing H_reset and SDA but no effect.

5. I measured both eeproms voltages and i get very similar result. Pins 1,2,3 and 4 are 0,0V and pins 5,6,7,8 are 3,3V with both eeproms when AC plug on. Is that marking somthing good or bad? I already ordered Arduino Ethernet Shield W5100 Network Expansion Board. I am planning to use it by following info given by Oga83, juusso and some other clever guys too.. And I ask later some more when Arduino gomes..

[D] Software • [PC] DeSTRoi - PVR Content Decrypting (only for C/D series)

Hello, i'm an openlgtv developer (YAY :D).
Decrypting recordings IS possible.
We implemented it using a modified samygo PVR decryptor.
It supports decoding of STR files, which are essentially m2ts files. They are encoded with AES128-CBC, like on Samsung.
The key is unique and stored on the TV secure partition. It's a 24 bytes wrapped AES key, that can be used after unwrap.

PAT and PMT are apparently stored on the TV Flash, so we fill them after the packets have been decoded

For more infos, you can see our implementation here: https://github.com/openlgtv/epk2extract/blob/master/src/stream/tsfile.c

I wish openlgtv forums were more crowded too, as we're lacking developers atm :(

IIRC it depends on the DLNA(UPNP) server settings, if you can jump/fwd/rwd, when i was using mediatomb i had one setting that allowed transcoding and another that allowed fwd/rwd

This is clearly something for your TV dealer, nothing that needs to be patched here.
Maybe you can ask to try the same model at the shop with your headphones

is what zoelechat posted really what you want?
AFAIK we have never been so deep in the sw-frontend/framebuffer to change things there, so if it isn,t built in already it wont be there so fast.

you should really consider moving back to 32" if you find 40" is too big for you room thats why they sell the TVs in different sizes

Hi everybody,

I'm thinking about buying a Samsung UE19H4000AWXZG (yep, that's 19 glorious inches) but the cheapest price I've found is for the XZG "version" (Germany, Austria, Switzerland)... and it's locked to those countries so the language chosen for TV audio track is always NOT-spanish, and I'm a spaniard...

I've been reading this forum and it seems there might be a way to unlock the TV region but all the talk here is related to "smart" TVs, it seems... and this one is quite dumb

Have someone succeeded in changing TV region for these 2014 lower end models?
If so, how?

[H] Support • Advanced Service Menu Region Greyed Out

$

ok well to update anyone who reads this, there has been some changes in ADVANCED service menu allowable options. Because i wasnt careful enough playing around in advanced service menu, i ended up bricking my tv. thank god it was under warranty. So after the tv was repaired, by installing new main board, i noticed the firmware version was different than what was on the original board. my original board had version 1112.1 and the new board has version 1123.1 although version 1123.1 is not the most current version available, there were some noticeable changes within ADVANCED service menu. they are listed below....

option-->mrt option--> OTN Support is now greyed out. fw ver: 1112.1 was NOT greyed out

option-->local set--> KOR was added to the exsisting list

option-->mrt option--> Region---> is no longer greyed out and has only 2 choices available (USA,KOR)

option-->mrt option-->language_arabic--> is no longer greyed out and has 24 choices available (US, KR, MALAYSIA,WEST ASIA, N_AFRICA, AFRICA, TAIWAN, S_AMERICA, MIDDLE_ASIA, ISRAEL, IRAN, EAST_ASIA, UNKNOWN, CIS, TURKEY, CHINA, HONG_KONG, JAPAN, CANADA, PHILIPINE, EU, AUSTRALIA, CAUCASUS, CANTRAL_ASIA)

im sure there are other changes that were made, im only pointing out the most relevant ones pertaining to this thread topic. Also if anyone happens to know the EXACT description and function of the advanced service menu options, please share the wealth. im not looking for guesses, bcuz thats what leads to bricked tvs. :P

[D] Support • Firmware-Downgrade DNS Server error

hello all

i'm new here and -guess what- stuck with the pvr activation on my ue40d6200 samsung baby... ;-) silly enough i made a firmware update last night to now 1028, thinking or hoping samsung would have added new features to the new fw. okay, now i read that the new fw is causing problems when trying to activate pvr for my samsung. bad enough, that last night was the first fw update since 4 years :-( now i'm trying to get back to my old fw which - i guess - was 1008. i get the dns error as well, saying cannot connect. try tonight with the new ip mentioned in here.
@drgt : you mention you still have old fw stored on your pc. would you share it with me? i haven't got an old version at all anymore... and how to i install the old fw? i tried to copy 1018 to my samsung by usb update but it says there is nothing to update and i guess this is why i have the "newest" fw and it blocks anything older than this.

can anyone help me? after 7hours on tv/pc and 2hours sleep i'm getting little desperate...
