[H] General • Guide to record to a network share for H series?

$

Update: I've ran a couple more tests with USB drives:

1. A 32MB SD card formatted ext4 and having an identical filesystem to a working stick (the same files, the same permissions, the same UUID) - is not seen as a PVR device. When I try to record anything it says it needs to format a PVR device and displays only the root device. The SD card is not seen in the OSD, but it's mounted correctly and I can see it via ssh. Most likely PVR devices need to have a minimum size.

2. I took a 2GB stick and formatted it in the TV as a PVR device. I did a small recording. Used SSH, deleted the CONTENTS folder and created a symlink to my NFS share. (Before I copied CONTENTS/NewBoard.ss to my CONTENTS folder on the NFS share). Recording to network share worked correctly.

3. I tried to use the 2GB stick with the dd'ed filesystem from my 8GB PVR device. The TV complained that the filesystem was corrupt and offered to fix it. However it showed disk capacity as 0kb, and it didn't manage to fix anything.

I will try with a 1GB stick, but I expect it to work...

I believe you are doing the right thing .. thinking .. researching .. trying .. testing.

You might be able to stop the bootloop .. if you manage to gain access to the service-menu again,
you should disable the "watchdog timer" as the very first thing you do.

This *may* stop the bootlooping, and give you peace and time to do more thinking .. researching .. trying .. testing.

Best of luck !

ok so ive been reading and testing and i know for a fact that my firmware is corrupt. it restarts around the 1.15min mark almost every time. will a firmware downgrade be enough to make it stop restarting or will i have to replace that main board now. anyways if it is possible can i get the firmware for a mst5ausc from a older version. it has 01018 right now. i read there is a version that is modified for the downgrade that is 01013 but looks like 01090 if i read correctly. thanks

Also has anyone tried the guy on ebay selling new nand flash chips? i emailed him about it and am waiting for a response but it sounds promising. otherwise i have heard of the higher models working in the system too like the pn59d7000 board and the 8000 board as well. just so everybody is aware

So I have fixed problem, but with a strange method. First I have exported channel list. Than reset the TV. Afterwards I did not make a channel search but loaded the exported channel list and tadaaaa...Mini preview was there.
I think it is because of service specific provider search is disabling the mini preview on the EPG screen. But It works on free sat searched list. So Loading a list did the trick.

I will try to briefly (sorry for my english - google translate):
1. You need a computer with LPT port and XP (win7 not tried)
2. It is necessary to make the programmator from scheme in file pegas_2.rar
3. Install LPT driver from setup_lptdrv.rar
4. The next step - connect the programmator by i2с to the chip (It will help you datasheet wt61p802_421.pdf, do not forget 3.3v power and RESET pin must be 3.3v. It is better to find on-board control points)
5. Working with the program (postal2.rar) is shown on the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMOKe1YxNlU, only we do not use VGA-connector
6. Programming with file ue40eh5000w_wt61p805_388.rar . For mainboard BN41-01807a UE32ES6727 with wt61p805 worked.

I think for other mainboard with this type of chip is also nice. For others maybe need different code. Try.

Thanks for the info. Does this work with a "exlink cable" or a " arduino mega + shield ethernet"?
How I can get the .bin for my model ( un32d5500 ) ?
I need conect to the pins holes
Image
or whit the vga conector? Many thanks

@AlHard said we should reprogram wt61p805, but you talk about the EEPROM, which is another chip. Am I missing something?

For my TV (UN40F5500), Weltrend chip is a WT61P807, which is a display control, while EEPROM is an Atmel ATMLH448 2EC L B. I was able to also identify the Winbond chip, (serial flash) which is a 25Q40CLSIP.

I attached some pictures of the chips (attach1.JPG and attach2.JPG). Also attached the datasheets for WT61P8xx (w61p8.pdf), for ATMLH448 (atmel-8568-seeprom-at24c256c-datasheet.pdf) and Winbond chip (da00-w25q40cle1.pdf).

If I can help somehow in development or anything else in order to make the recovery of the main board easier, drop me a line.

Alex.

You can try in Service menu to find Power Failure//OFF/state (don't remember right now) or something like this and change from source EXT to TV I remember to see something like this there. mayby this can help. watch out what you change in Service Menu because HIGH RISK OF BRICK.

Hi there,

accessed the service menu and changed the model to a UE75JU7000 series (HW is identical).
I do have a 120Hz Panel installed and everything does work though (auto motion plus, etc.).

My htpc is recognizing the TV as a 3D enabled one and the TV does show the 3D image - BUT: I cannot really pair my 3D glasses.
It does recognize the glasses but shows a battery empty symbol.
The glasses itself wont sync to the TV - no 3D image delivered....

any ideas?

Thx
Atlas

Hi, paulini! Did you get any progress with your research? I'm on the same boat, just with a different model (mine is a UN40F5500, so F-Series instead of D-Series), but the problem is the same, so the solution might be the same as well. Did you try the TTL cable?

I think the recover process will follow what's stated here: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=4555&p=86891&hilit=micom#p86791

Thanks Lordbyte for the response! Unfortunately trial and error not always leads to success.. especially when it comes to a samsung TV!

I'm sure the problem is that it's recognized as another model (LE40D550) and for sure there's a conflict with the firmware installed for UE40D5500..
The weird is that LE40D550 is an lcd model but UE40D5500 is led...
Is there any way i could access the service menu with the tv turned on?

Trying to figure out how the problem occurred i remember that i just connected a wireless mouse/keyboard microsoft combo on the desktop that sits next to the tv
