[M/Q] General • Direct TV (Satellite) Region/Country change?

Hello,

With my previous Samsung TV (50ES6900), it was possible to select the country for the satellite system in the standard menu. My goal is to receive the FranSAt channels on my EU_BENELUX Q9FN.

On the Q9FN, the Country is selected at the beginning and seems to be kept for all subsystems (Direct TV, APPS...).

I've been able to manually select the EutelSat5W satellite and to discover all the FranSat channels (not in the right order) but only the radio channels are working. For the TV channel, I get the "No CI interface or Card detected" message (I'm using an official FranSat CI+ & Card).

The solution should be to change the Direct TV country from BENELUX to France, but I don't know if this is still possible. In this case, how should I proceed?

Hello every body!
Thank you very much for you great job!
I rooted my tv, all worked good since some days, but maybe i'll have problem because:

In the service Menu I would do "Control" (or "Option") -> "Sub Option" -> "OPTION_SWU" -> "OTN Support" -> Off
But with my recent software there is only 5 lines in the "OPTION_SWU" menu the two last lines "OTN Support" and "STW_Diag_Code" aren't here.
And in my provider's modem i can't block address ip :-(, so i can't block the internet access to:
msecnd.net
samsungotn.net
www.samsungotn.net
test.samsungotn.net

Then i went in the normal Menu - Support - Update software - Automatic update --> "Off".
I don't know if it's enought? Firmware update are blocking, but with Smart Hub?
When i will turn my TV power "ON" can Smart Hub do update and kill the root? Until yet i disconnect my TV from Internet when i turn it "ON" but can do Smart Hub do update later?

I would expect 03_01_libOSCAM.init.dis to indicate that it is disabled?
Am I correct that oscam is meant for smartcard sharing? I do not have a smartcard or any adapter installed in the CI+ slot whatsoever. Could that be a problem? I have never used the CI+ slot for anything previously either.

Note that I did find a way to get the TV stable. When I switch it to a simple TV station (non-HD, no data service, not a radio station) and do not touch the TV for >4 minutes, there will be no restart and from then on the TV is stable and I can do everything with it as usual. So it appears there is something that may occur in the first 3-4 minutes which can cause the TV to restart. If the TV survives that, then everything is fine. I need to do that each time I turn the TV on however, so if there would be a way to get rid of this completely, that would be nice.

the exact sequence is: WRITE IN SEARCH FORUM(OR google, yahoo, qwant....): HOW TO ENTER SERVICE MENU SAMSUNG TV. :roll:

The key sequence given is for full size remote. K series comes with the smart remote! Is it even possible to enter the service menu with the smart remote? I've googled it and can't find anything for the smart remote- only full size.

With SamyGo being available on the K-series, is it possible to manually download installed apps from the tv?

On older Samsung TVs you could just FTP into the device once you had root access and backup the installed apps to you computer. Can you do that as well on the K-series? And maybe use the developer mode to push the apps back to the tv?

Hi all,
could you please tell me if you have any software which allows me to convert samsung recordings of J series in format srf to any common extension like TS, mp4 or mkv?

I've used Destroi 1.3.3 and I am able to decrypt tv-recording to TS-file but I can't open it.

If following thread already exists, please let me know. I'm new here and there is a huge amount of topics...

Here I am new, please help
TV plug 220VAC, switch on, Samsung logo writing, logo disappear, backlight yes, red LED flash 5 times, stop slightly, rewrite Samsung logo and repeat flashing red LED.
I changed the contents of IC901: AT24C256 memory, but with no success. When I remove the memory, the Samsung logo appears again.
Please help me to continue working

Hello forum members,
I need explanation about the calibration patterns needed for this particular model (MU7000 series UE65MU7075) : it seems some TVs need a b/W, while others need a b&W with primary colors a the bottom of the pattern... Could someone tell me where to find the UE65MU7075 service manual as PDF ?
I would also be interested by your ADC results. Here are my HDMI calibration results, made using one of the 2 B&W + bottom color patterns attached here.
** Unfortunately, I now personnaly find that TV colors are a bit boring, with a bit too much green globally, a light weak contrast, and too much red on european skins (as if people stayed too long time in direct sunlight ;-) **

...exlink works on my h6640 tv through the audio out (headphones) jack. All you need to do is enable uart and change the rs232 mode to uart in the service menu. Now I can control my tv through rs232.

Hello rexio8, thanks for sharing this information. I'm a little bit confused regarding "enable uart", as this is mentioned only 1 other time in this forum, and it's also not in the wiki:
Service Menu -> Options -> Sub Options : Set: Enable UART - ON

Is this the option which you changed?
What happens with the audio signal from the headphones port? Do you still hear audio when you connect normal earphones?

What told matrixabc "when there is a change in frequency at the first time is channel change it shows wrong value. Probably from the previous channel." is partially sometimes true, but you wait 2-3 seconds and there is the good value!!

Hello, yesterday I checked the firmware version of my UE55KU6000 and I was surprised it was 1220. I remember that I disabled firmware updates but now that option was enabled. Is it possible that the TV change that option from itself?

And the second question is: Can I downgrade TV firmware from 1220 to 1169?, that will allow me to start the rooting process...
