[B] Firmware • T-CHL7DEUC 2005.0 old new firmware

Hello!
Maybe someone would be interested in new firmware mod I have made today. This is well-known T-CHL7DEUC 2005.0 firmware with some previous mods and one new allowing you to setup your own sounds played when TV is turned on or off.

List of mods included:
Spoiler: show
- /mtd_exe/rc.local script extension:
calling optional /mtd_rwarea/SamyGO/exeDSP.sh script before executing exeDSP (DANGEROUS!)
- /mtd_exe/rc.local script extension:
calling optional /mtd_rwarea/SamyGO/autorun.sh script in-a-background after executing exeDSP
(this is the script previously known as SamyGO.sh)
- time zone selection for other counties (see: Setup / Time / Clock menu)
- Polish language OSD fix ("Wyspy Kanaryjskie" -> "Częstotliwość")
- read-only resources moved to writable partition (so you can replace them by your own files):
/mtd_appdata/resource/on.mp3 ---> /mtd_rwarea/SamyGO/rc/on.mp3 (sound called when TV is turned on)
/mtd_appdata/resource/off.mp3 ---> /mtd_rwarea/SamyGO/rc/off.mp3 (sound called when TV is turned off)
/mtd_appdata/resource/factory_reset_bell.mp3 ---> /mtd_rwarea/SamyGO/rc/factory_reset_bell.mp3 (sound called on factory reset)
/mtd_appdata/resource/self.mp3 ---> /mtd_rwarea/SamyGO/rc/self.mp3 (sound called on audio test)
/mtd_appdata/resource/self.jpg ---> /mtd_rwarea/SamyGO/rc/self.jpg (picture displayed on video test)

NOTE: if you don't want to replace these sounds and picture please
make directory and symbolic links to originals using following console (telnet) commands:

md /mtd_rwarea/SamyGO/rc
ln -s /mtd_appdata/resource/on.mp3 /mtd_rwarea/SamyGO/rc/on.mp3
ln -s /mtd_appdata/resource/off.mp3 /mtd_rwarea/SamyGO/rc/off.mp3
ln -s /mtd_appdata/resource/factory_reset_bell.mp3 /mtd_rwarea/SamyGO/rc/factory_reset_bell.mp3
ln -s /mtd_appdata/resource/self.mp3 /mtd_rwarea/SamyGO/rc/self.mp3
ln -s /mtd_appdata/resource/self.jpg /mtd_rwarea/SamyGO/rc/self.jpg

Please make sure there is enough free space on /mtd_rwarea partition for your files.
If not, you may place your files on /mtd_tlib partition and make symbolic links as above,
but please note /mtd_tlib partition is mounted with delay at init so you cannot place
"on.mp3" file there. That's the only exeption.

I would think not. Where have you heard about Samsung TV's running Windows? They all use a heavily modified version of Linux

Firstly, it is a hack, not a custom firmware. You can install a patched firmware with the samygo firmware patcher. Secondly, check the samygo compatibility list on the wiki. Any device not listed there is not able to use SamyGO

I tried to get it on my H5570, but it doesn't show up on the tv when I try to sync it from my webserver. (I can sync a whole bunch of other applications without issues, so my set up seems ok.)
It seems there's a problem which prevents it from being installed on the series H.

To install the app you must have root. The files of app must be manually (via ftp) placed in the directory OnlineTV with widgets user directory. In the F series, the directory is: /mtd_rwcommon/widgets/user. The installation procedure is described in the topic: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=8760#p70515.

[H] General • Any good H series TVs that are not smart (e.g. no ethernet/wifi)?

$

I'm looking around to buy a LCD TV with good picture quality and lots of inputs. The smart features I've seen don't seem too useful for my needs (even the media player is limited). Since I've heard that newer TVs have automatic updates that may not be disabled, I was wondering if there are some non-smart TVs around (H series) that might be worth it and if SammyGo would work on them.

What I mainly want from SammyGo is the ability to block the TV (or certain channels) based on specific times. I've learned that this can be done through injection, but I'm not sure if I need a TV with smart capabilities to do this. I could add a USB to ethernet adapter and use it for remote management - I'm not sure if those dongles are supported or not.

What do you guys recommend?

Edit: So far I only found H5003 which is not smart, but only has 2 HDMI ports (and I'd like at least 4!). The alternative is a H6400, but it's more expensive and I hate paying for features I'm not going to use...

Thanks for the hints! I found the 1.5.3.4 somewhere in the thread but only now I realized that "offline" decoding means taking the harddisk from the TV to the PC which I cannot do right now.

Not necessarily. As soon as you have .srf/.inf/.key in ANY folder accessible from Windows you can use offline decoding, no need for whole HDD. The only difference with drmdecrypt is that it doesn't automatically rename .ts so it doesn't need .inf to get recording infos.

mikemcgear wrote:
So I would like to try again with drmdecrypt.exe. It does not have a parameter to specify a certain keyfile. If I rename the .key file to have the same same as the recording but with .mdb, drmdecrypt will again complain

You're probably using some antic drmdecrypt version and/or misuse it.
Check that one and usage: viewtopic.php?f=63&t=6511&p=62953#p62953

After a lot of fuss I managed to downgrade my tv and installed sammygo app on it.
But all I get now is a sammygo console on tv and a ftp access. No telnet.
What can I do now? My final goal is to install the IPTV app.
The d series wiki is not very elaborating...
Any help?

The rooting didn't work for me on BD-E6300 with firmware 1004, so while the procedure works for some players it seems very much that it doesn't for others, even if the model number etc is the same.

[D] Support • Confused about samyGOso on D-series

$

Hello

I own an UExxD7000 (actually 7090) D-series arm TV-set with SamyGO running since years (last update was ntfs-3g from 2012).
SamyGo hack has been installed via SmartHub developer mode.

Now that some fancy new features are coming through the samyGOso injection, I decided to give it a try.
However, I can't get any of the patches to work:
First problem was that I got a reboot on the execution of any samyGOso (1.2.4) patch command over nc.
After disabling the watchdog in service menu I get no reboot anymore, instead nothing happens for ~1 minute and then I get a "segmentation fault".
When I try to repeat the injection again, I get the segmentation fault immediately.

So I checked the download area for updates and discovered the SamyGO_Extensions_v0.03.6_r15_for_genoap_20141102150140.zip which is almost the same, what I have on my TV in the widget folder + some of the new samyGOso patches.
Therefore, I updated all the files of my widget except of the init.d-scripts but still no success with the samyGOso-patches.
The question is whether the patches are compatible with the D-series smart hub hack at all?
Is there anybody on this forum successfully using the samyGOso-patches with a D7000/D8000 TV-set? :?:

What is especially confusing me, is that some of the patches are already included in the original SamyGO hack (e.g. ChannelInfo, NoDRM etc. patched through game.so, I suppose) and additionaly there is now (see above release) an init.d script patching the same things again through samyGOso... :?

Best regards
HeMeZ
