Now I just want to solve the problem of locate only Analog Channels in Auto scan.

I changed the tuner from Service Menu to APLS
but not Digital Channels function in auto scan : (

Hi,
I want to try to get skype app back on my TV and so I want to try to downgrade the TV from current firmware 001028.
I've checked already the proof of conecpt with the DNS changes but I got an error message 603.

So my question is if it is possible to downgrade my firmware and how to downgrade that I can use the samygo hack for reinstalling the skype app.

Do not update to latest version you will longer not able to install widgets. You can try to upgrade by USB to 1412 and then you will be able to downgrade just in case.

Have not experienced any issues on mine. Try to use ethernet cable. If not then disable auto channels in router and good neighbor policy.

You are lucky that it has no internet access so it didn't update to latest firmware and block USB apps.

There is userwidgetfolder method to install customwidgets on your tv for firmwares below 1422

1. Format a USB-Stick and create a folder "userwidget" in root.
2. Copy ZIP-file of widget to /userwidget
3. Plug-in the USB-Stick
4. Apps will be installed automatically when you connect the USB stick to TV. (This is now blocked in last firmware release)

Try to google by keyword userwidget and you will find some.

It doesn't have Quantum dots technology screen so doubt that it has hdr also it need HDMI 2.0a. Check support with netflix. I'm afraid you will have to buy year 2016 TV.

The only 2015 Model that has received the HDR firmware update is the UEJS9000 series according to a Samsung tech support person. Also to run HDR you must have a TV that has at least a 10-bit colour panel.


So only models series 8-9 from 2015 are capable.

Ultimately I want to remote control my TV from my Fibaro SmartHome which is based on Linux and Lua - probably similar to what DieterKoblenz mentioned earlier in this topic.

Nope, you can only install firmware from your region, your model is UA whereas US model is UN. Anyway you never get any benefit of firmware update...

If you save to some "rcS" script etc. Yeah iptables is executed first but we can't save it anywhere like that. All signed, hashed etc. and modifying causes brick :) So (in most cases) we run commands after tv loads network stuff etc. Besides it's always best to block updates independently from TV :) Also on J there is MUCH more to block. We are still confirming if we didn't find all the shit that needs blocking/disabling :)

Hi,
I know that this is the section for H-series but I'm so disappointed about skype app removal from smart hub and I'm looking for weeks now for a working solution to get it back I have a UE40D6500 with firmware 1013, I have access with ftp to file level but all tests to reinstall skype with files supported here failed. Skype app is available in smart hub and I can start it but its loading and loading and nothing else.
So my important question is if somebody here can confirm that skype is still working on a Samsung TV with login and video call as it was?
Second question is why is my skype app hanging on loading and not starting?
Does somebody a solution for D serie or my model?

Any help is highly appreciated! I tried already to get support in the d-serie topic but without any answer.

this is the line from the script that handles the recording storage for recording to network share

so permissions or length don't matter

the TV stores two sets of firmware in case an update goes wrong or something
to tell the currently running firmware that there is a second set available log in via ssh and run:

you might have to change the .1 and .0 depending on which one is currently there
after you have done this you can navigate in normal tv osd menu to Software Update and then there is the Option "alternate firmware" available

i was able to enable the extended menu with the help of pc and after adding pvr and mhp abilities . All good but when i open mhp rai rio2016 menu , press the logo , and after few seconds i see error message . Some nown problems ? Tnx
PS: The connection is good , i tested it before and function with other samsung app .
